Initiate a Day
Without Art observance in your community. Community activism
continues to be an effective strategy to show that it is still
possible to effect change through art. Go to the Visual AIDS
website for examples of model projects. You will find an inspiring
record of the many ways in which artists, AIDS educators and
arts administrators work in partnership to program art projects
which raise awareness of AIDS and demonstrate support for
people with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers.
They also provide an archive containing copyright free images
of posters, broadsides, postcards and psa's which you can
download and reproduce for your own use.
Bookmark AIDS ACTION's Legislative Action Center and activate
your political self. Not only does the Legislative Action
Center provide timely updates on congressional activity on
HIV/AIDS issues and legislation, but they also make it quick
and easy to sign up for timely Network Action Alerts, write
to your members in congress and find contact information for
media organizations in your area.
