Creative Council Events: Foundry Tour of Hodges

Creative Council members took a field trip to Polich Art Works in Rock Tavern, NY to meet artist Jim Hodges and get a sneak peek at Look and See, the artist’s monumental sculpture commissioned for Creative Time’s Art on the Plaza series at the Ritz Carlton, Battery Park City.  Founder and owner Dick Polich gave a behind-the-scenes tour of his football-sized foundry, where major sculptures by world-renowned artists and architects were being cast and finished.  Jim spoke with the group about his process of working with Creative Time and the foundry to explore new materials and create this 9-ton, 50-foot long, 11-foot high work. Look and See will open on May 5 at the Ritz Carlton, Battery Park.
