The Performance

Doomocracy is an immersive artwork set at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. Inside the installation, guests will navigate through a labyrinth of rooms exploring contemporary political anxieties. Before and after the experience, guests are invited to linger, discuss, debate and purchase drinks at the Doomocracy bar.

Event Times and Duration

Performances take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Entry is timed, and advance ticket registration is required. The performance lasts for approximately 2 hours from arrival to exit.

After admission, visitors will be greeted into our Doomocracy bar, and from there led to the haunted house experience in groups of 10-12 people with a timed entry ticket. The first arrival is at 6pm and the final arrival is at 10 pm. After the performance visitors are welcome to remain at the bar enjoying food and drink until 11:30pm.

Getting To Doomocracy

Doomocracy takes place at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, located in Sunset Park on 58th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues. For detailed directions click here. Please note that there is no parking available inside the Army Terminal.

What To Bring

Please bring a photo ID and either a digital or printed copy of your ticket. Large coats and bags are not recommended, as guests will be on their feet, maneuvering through small spaces at times. Guests will be asked to check their coats and large bags (anything larger than a clutch) at our free coat and bag check.

Content and Nature of The Performance?

Creative Time is committed to working with artists on the dialogues, debates, and dreams of our time. Artists have long been engaged with politics, using their work as a catalyst to see, understand, and influence the world around us. In presenting Pedro Reyes’ Doomocracy, Creative Time does not endorse a particular viewpoint but rather aims to stimulate thought and dialogue on pressing contemporary issues.

This is a highly active durational performance that involves walking for long periods of time, climbing stairs, and navigating through narrow spaces. There will be alternate routes provided for guests that have special needs around access. Please contact us in advance by emailing tickets@creativetime.org. Additionally, throughout the performance guests may confront adult content and potentially disturbing content including the handling and firing of a prop weapon, intense audio and lighting, low visibility, strobe lights, fog, damp or wet conditions, special effects, sudden actions, and an overall physically demanding environment.

DISCLAIMER: Doomocracy aims to shock, amuse, provoke, even disturb. Be forewarned, Doomocracy will challenge you both physically and mentally and by choosing to enter you will encounter all those “mature content” things you’re usually warned of… and more.

Accessibility?

There will be alternate routes provided for guests that have special needs around access. Please contact us in advance by emailing tickets@creativetime.org.

What If I’m Late?

Due to the timed nature of the performance, latecomers will not be admitted.

Will There Be Food and Drink?

Yes! There will be light snacks and drinks served at the Doomocracy bar. We invite you to pay them a visit before and after the experience.

Is Photography Allowed Onsite?

We encourage the use of photography and social media in all common areas and the spreading of Doomocracy by tagging #Doomocracy and @creativetimenyc. However to protect the integrity of the project there is no photo or video permitted during the actual experience.

What If My Desired Performance Is Fully Booked?

Sorry to hear that! You can either register for another performance, or join our Ticket Notification List to be notified via email if additional tickets are released.

Can I Reschedule My Ticket?

Unfortunately, due to high demand we are unable to reschedule tickets to a booked performance. You may pass on your tickets to a friend, or release them to the public by cancelling them.
